Bottas "big mistake" sparked Hungarian GP chaos - Perez

Perez was caught up in the multiple car collision at turn one

Sergio Perez has pointed an accusing finger at Valtteri Bottas that sparked the first-lap chaos at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Mexican was one of five drivers to retire in the incident that stopped the race after Bottas collided with Lando Norris, triggering a multi-car collision.

Bottas, Norris, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc all retired as well whilst Perez's Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen sustained heavy damage.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1 after the incident, Perez said: "I think basically Bottas lost the car.

"In the beginning, I thought it was Lando but it is clear Bottas made a big mistake and took everyone out of the race.

"It is a big shame. It is a massive blow for us as a team but we also lost the engine, very likely.

"Yeah, of course, so it is a big penalty on our side but... I don't know what to say. Definitely, that was a big mistake."
