Aston Martin support exceeds Lawrence Stroll's dreams
Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll has described the support enjoyed by the team as "a lot more than I ever dreamed".
The 2021 campaign is the first in which the British marque has raced in the sport since 1960 after rebranding the Racing Point outfit over the winter months.
Aston Martin is seventh in the constructors' standings with Sebastian Vettel scoring the team's best result so far with second in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the first podium in the brand's F1 history.
"The level of enthusiasm and excitement we are seeing through social since we returned to Formula 1, even before we turned the first wheel, the excitement of the launch was very impressive," said Stroll.
"So we're already getting a tremendous amount of support, a lot more than I ever dreamed we'd have at this stage of our new young Aston Martin life."
Despite being new to F1 this year, Aston Martin has been a constant in the motor racing scene through its endurance racing efforts.
Reflecting on this diverse history in motorsport and on the road, Stroll added: "This brand is exceptional with its 107-year history so I think the brand extends, obviously well past Formula 1.
"So there has been a great amount of support for the brand historically already, and in other forms of racing. As you know we won a category in Le Mans last year.
"It's been around for a long time in various race categories, and as I mentioned earlier we've already seen that support."
