Verstappen crash - Fan footage reveals ferocity of impact at Copse

Fan footage of the dramatic first-lap incident between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at the British Grand Prix has revealed the ferocity of the Dutchman's impact with the barriers.

The F1 championship rivals made contact at Copse after dicing over the first half of the lap at Silverstone, with Verstappen sent spearing towards the tyre stacks on the outside of the corner.

Hamilton was handed a 10-second penalty but went on to win the race, whilst Verstappen was taken to hospital for checks after the 51g impact. The Red Bull driver was cleared of injury.
