Norris to run British GP helmet designed by a six-year-old

Lando Norris will race at this weekend's British Grand Prix with a special helmet designed by a six-year-old after running a competition for fans.

The hand-drawn design by Eva Muttram was personally selected by Norris as the winning entry, with the McLaren driver saying it reminded him of a younger version of himself.

"Eva was the winner, six years old, who came up with a very original design, one that really brought me back to when I was five, six, seven, growing up, creating all of my own designs, my own helmets with just normal colouring pencils and pens, nothing to do with photoshop or anything like that," explained Norris.

"It brought back some cool memories, and I announced she was the winner today. [It is] Just something different, something cool and it seems to be going down pretty good, so I'm pretty happy with what I did."

Norris is no stranger to changing the design of his helmet as last year he took part in the Italian Grand Prix with a replica of the one used by MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi.

"I'm a big fan of changing things up on my helmet and expressing myself and just creating cool things," added Norris.

"My decision was meant to be for the one race at Silverstone, to leave it up to the fans to create some ideas, some awesome designs, and let them choose what I race in at my home grand prix."
