Norris keen for 'valuable' Alonso advice
Lando Norris has admitted his desire that Fernando Alonso remains part of the McLaren Formula 1 team, even in an advisory capacity, following his departure from the sport, as he believes the Spaniard's knowledge of the car remains "valuable" heading into 2019.
During the summer, Alonso announced he would be leaving F1 in order to pursue interests in other motorsport disciplines. The acquisition of the motorsport 'Triple Crown' which includes victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, Le Mans, and the Indianapolis 500 is now his priority.
Norris, who will form part of a new driving line-up for McLaren next season alongside Carlos Sainz, is eager for Alonso to maintain his connection with the team.
"I think it'll be very valuable," Norris said of Alonso's potential advice.
"He's obviously got the best idea of how the car has changed over the year, the best experience of what's good and what's bad - a lot more than I do.

Norris also commented on Alonso's future and whether he could make a return to F1. It appears the Brit is in the dark about his former colleague's plans - even if he remains part of the McLaren family.
"Obviously, I don't know what's going to happen, if he's still going to be part of McLaren, he still is part of McLaren, I guess a lot is up to him. But I think there’s a long way to go until we see what he wants to do and if he wants to get in an F1 car again."
