Hamilton: Rosberg taught me nothing
Lewis Hamilton has reignited his war of words with former team-mate Nico Rosberg, insisting he learned absolutely nothing from the German driver during the period when the pair were together at Mercedes - a time which was littered with arguments and disagreements both on and off the track.
Hamilton and Rosberg, who had previously been childhood friends as they rose through the motor racing ranks together, were team-mates for four years from 2012 to 2016. Rosberg went on to win his first and only Formula One World Championship in the last year of the partnership, but it was the pursuit of that particular title which saw the feud start between the team-mates.
In the Spain and Austria Grand Prix races in that season, there were collisions between the duo and their behaviour resulted in a dressing-down from Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff.
It seems that, in Hamilton's case, there is some ill-feeling still lingering. When discussing his relationship with Rosberg and responding to questions about him, he claimed he gained nothing from him professionally.
“No. Zero, " he told CNN.
"From all my teammates that I’ve raced with, I don’t generally take much from them.
“I’d say probably the only teammate I’ve ever really learned something from would have been Fernando [Alonso] — it was my first year in F1.
“After that, I would say I was able to have the experience, so I never felt I was taking anything from another driver.
“I was just always trying to enhance and unlock my own abilities.

Rosberg recently spoke on the rivalry also, but there wasn't as much tension in his response and even suggested the pair could rekindle their old friendship at some point in the future.
“We were very good friends in the past,” he told the German broadcaster ZDF. “It can happen again in the future.
“We’re not rivals anymore, I’m completely out of it, so I don’t see why we could not get along well after some time.”
He did say, however, that: “We’re not at that point yet.”
