Vettel facing 'so much to discover' with Aston Martin
Sebastian Vettel has revealed his determination to make Aston Martin successful ahead of embarking on the latest chapter of his Formula 1 career.
With the final dark days of Vettel's six-year stint with Ferrari now firmly behind him, the four-time champion has the opportunity to resurrect his reputation.
Vettel endured a torrid 2020 with the Scuderia, finishing a wretched 13th in the drivers' standings, and with his lowest points tally from a full campaign since 2008.
With Aston Martin ready to show Vettel "the love" according to team principal Otmar Szafnauer, the 33-year-old is eager to respond.
“I can’t wait to start working with the team," said Vettel on the day Aston Martin announced American multi-national IT company Cognizant as its title partner.
"There’s so much for me to discover over the next few months and I’m incredibly determined to help make this team even more successful.
"Before we know it, we will be at the first race, seeing this famous name back where it belongs. I’m proud to be part of this journey.”
Vettel will be partnered for 2021 by Lance Stroll, who claims he can already sense a renewed purpose within the team since its rebranding from Racing Point at the start of the year.
“Seeing Aston Martin back in Formula One is a huge deal," said Stroll.
"Whenever I’m at the factory you can feel the buzz and energy. We’re ready for this. There’s so much hunger in the team and I just can’t wait to get the season started.”
