Perez to start US GP from pit-lane
Sergio Perez will start the United States Grand Prix from the pit lane after missing a call to the weighbridge at the end of FP2.
Racing Point brought Perez to his box for a pit-stop practice rather than stopping to be weighed and the team taking tyres off the car was crucial in making the Mexican's sanction so harsh.
The stewards report read: "The penalty imposed is a mandatory penalty specified under the Formula One Sporting Regulations and the Stewards note that they have no discretion to impose an alternative penalty."
Perez had gone 15th-fastest in FP2, but Racing Point Lance Stroll had suggested more pace is in the car for the team this weekend, ending Friday inside the top 10.
