Poll: Should Mercedes pick Bottas or Ocon for 2020?

A seat at the reigning constructors' champions is always going to be one of the bigger stories of any season and it's no different as Mercedes choose between Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon.

Lewis Hamilton is secure in the lead Mercedes seat, of course, and may well be looking for a record-equalling seventh world championship next year.

Bottas has struggled to challenge Hamilton truly in nearly three years alongside the Brit, but his performances have been suitable enough to continue the Silver Arrows' run of championship success.

But team principal Toto Wolff has big plans for Ocon, and was furious that the Frenchman was left without a seat for 2019 after Renault backed out of a 'gentleman's agreement'.

Wolff has confirmed interest in Ocon from elsewhere, but might decide that the time is now to use the Silver Arrows' junior programme.
