Ticktum gets first F1 test drive in Bahrain
His old rival Mick Schumacher is also in action.
Dan Ticktum will take part in his first official Formula 1 event when he gets behind the wheel of Red Bull's RB15 at the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test. Ticktum will be in action on the Wednesday in Sakhir, with Max Verstappen set to drive the day before.
Ticktum was blocked from taking part in a test following last year's Hungarian Grand Prix as he lacked the necessary superlicence points.
The two-time Macau Grand Prix winner gained enough points to test by finishing runner-up in European Formula 3 to Mick Schumacher last year, but remains without the necessary tally for a full-time F1 drive.

It was expected that the Brit would have been a candidate to drive for Toro Rosso this year had he won F3 last year, but Schumacher's dominant run of form in the second half of the season snatched it.
Schumacher will also be in action in the Bahrain test, driving for both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo across the two days.
While Schumacher will make his F2 debut this weekend in Sakhir, Ticktum is signed up to Super Formula for 2019 – a path the likes of Stoffel Vandoorne and Pierre Gasly have trod on their way to F1 in the past.
