F1 reveal details of Sir Frank Williams tribute

F1 has revealed it will deliver a fitting, standalone tribute to Sir Frank Williams ahead of this weekend's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The legendary former owner and team principal passed away on Sunday, aged 79.

F1 has since been working on the details to correctly honour Williams prior to the inaugural event at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit as it did not want to 'cram in' a tribute during a packed pre-race schedule.

It has now been determined that at 7.20pm local time [4.20pm UK] - one hour and 10 minutes before the start of the race and shortly after the drivers' parade - there will be a minute's silence followed by applause.

This will involve all members of the Williams team, all the drivers and team principals, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, FIA president Jean Todt and F1 managing director motorsports Ross Brawn.

Visual tributes will also be displayed on the podium and the grid.

At 8pm local time [5pm UK], once the pitlane has closed, the FW07 - that won the team's first world titles in 1980 with Alan Jones at the wheel - will conduct an honour lap of the circuit.
