Ricciardo to receive win reward in the United States
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has confirmed "a deal is a deal" with Daniel Ricciardo set to sample Dale Earnhardt Sr's 1984 NASCAR at the United States Grand Prix.
When racing at Renault, Ricciardo agreed a bet whereupon then team principal Cyril Abiteboul would get a tattoo of the Australian's choosing should he achieve a podium with the team.
After Ricciardo signed for McLaren, questions were quickly raised as to whether a similar arrangement had been made with team principal Andreas Seidl or Brown.
However, an alternative arrangement was soon struck with Brown making use of his car collection and offering Ricciardo the chance to drive the 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlo of his idol, Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Ahead of the United States GP on October 24, McLaren has now confirmed Ricciardo will demo the iconic car at the Citrcuit of the Americas, saying in a tweet: "You saw that right. Dale Earnhardt Sr's 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be driven by Daniel Ricciardo at the Circuit of the Americas next week."

After scoring victory in the Italian GP last month, Ricciardo joked his reward should have been slightly more as only podiums had been previously discussed.
"I'm like, maybe he gives me the car," said Ricciardo. "It was always 'a podium, I get to drive it'. We never talked about a win.
"I gave him my shoe that he drank out of, so maybe he gives me the car. It's a good trade."
