Vettel and Stroll enjoying "great synergy" at Aston Martin
Lance Stroll believes there is a "great synergy" between himself and Aston Martin team-mate Sebastian Vettel in their first year partnered together.
Vettel joined the Silverstone-based outfit last winter having ended his relationship with Ferrari and has been tasked with helping the former underdog team kickstart its transformation into an F1 superpower under owner Lawrence Stroll.
“I think there has been a great synergy in the team this year," said Stroll, who sits 11 points behind Vettel in the drivers' standings.
"We’ve really pushed each other throughout the course of the year.
“He is a very experienced, knowledgeable team-mate who has been in world championship-winning teams and great cars and I think that having that knowledge in our team has been really helpful so I am looking forward to carrying on.”
Stroll can't compare team-mates
Vettel is the latest in a line of experienced team-mates partnering Stroll, the Canadian having spent seasons working with Sergio Perez and Felipe Massa.
Asked how Vettel matched up to his previous team-mates, Stroll insisted: “I don’t think you can really compare.
"At the end of the day, different drivers have different strengths and weaknesses. Every year the situation is a little bit different but Seb has been I think really helpful in bringing knowledge, experience to the team.
“Like I said, he has been in very competitive cars and world championship-winning environments and that is great to have on board in our team.”
