The world of F1 has paid its respects to Max Mosley following the death of the former FIA president following a long battle with cancer.
Mosley served as FIA president for 16 years and played a vital role in improving F1's safety.
A spokesperson for F1 said: "We are saddened to hear that Max Mosley, former FIA president has passed away. A huge figure in the transition of F1. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time."
Williams was the first time to honour Mosley on social media as it said via a Twitter message: "We are saddened to learn of the passing of former FIA president Max Mosley. Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time."

Current FIA president Jean Todt, who stands down from his role after 12 years in office at the end of this season, heralded Mosley's role in improving safety in F1.
"Deeply saddened by the passing of Max Mosley," said Todt. "He was a major figure in F1 and motorsport.
"As FIA president for 16 years, he strongly contributed to reinforcing safety on track and on the roads. The entire FIA community pays tribute to him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Mercedes also joined in the condolences, hailing Mosley's achievements throughout his career.
