Sette Camara takes up reserve role at Red Bull and AlphaTauri

Sette Camara to share reserve duties with Sebastian Buemi

Sergio Sette Camara rejoins the 'Red Bull family' as the reserve driver for Red Bull and AlphaTauri for the 2020 Formula 1 season.

Sette Camara was previously a part of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2016 when racing in FIA European Formula 3. The 21-year-old Brazilian has spent the last three years racing in Formula 2, scoring four wins but securing the needed super-licence points to be able to compete in F1.

"I am very happy to join the Red Bull family as Official Test and Reserve driver for the 2020 F1 season alongside Sébastian [Buemi]. I've been watching F1 since I was 5 years old and I'm humbled to have been given this opportunity to work with Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull."

Throughout 2019, Sette Camara acted as the development driver for McLaren but, after Petrobras, a Brazilian petroleum company, parted ways with the team, the writing appeared to be on the wall for the driver.

Sette Camara will share the reserve driver role with Sebastian Buemi and will be in throughout the season while also driving in the various Red Bull 'Running Show Car programme'
