Stroll unsure on Williams - Force India switch

Lance Stroll says he is committed to Williams, albeit perhaps only for the Belgian Grand Prix as a switch to the newly minted Racing Point Force India looks increasingly likely. A takeover by Stroll's billionaire father Lawrence has rescued Force India and a switch for the Canadian driver is expected to follow.

Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon will race for the new team at Spa-Francorchamps, although the Frenchman is the one who could make way if Stroll is moved teams - with a subsequent switch to McLaren likely to leave Stoffel Vandoorne as the ultimate loser.

Reports had suggested that Stroll could have made the switch before this weekend's race, but he will remain with Williams, although for how long it appears not even he knows.

"For the moment nothing's changed on my side," Stroll said. "I'm still wearing a Williams polo, we've got a race this weekend and I'm going to be 100 per cent focused and committed on my job.

"On the other side, things have happened, really pleased for my father. He saw a great financial opportunity with Force India.

"They've been struggling for a long time, he sees a lot of potential in the company and he's a businessman. He's passionate about cars, Formula 1, always has been. He's saved 400 jobs and he believes that he can build a very competitive and healthy company for the future so I'm happy for him.

"Like I said, for the moment I'm here at Williams, I'm not sure what I'll be doing in the future. We'll see what my father decides to do with me. He's a nice guy. I hope he'll take me.

"Right now I'm just taking it weekend by weekend and we'll see what happens."
