Toro Rosso 'working hard' with Honda - Marko

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has insisted that Red Bull are hard at work with Honda to try and put together a 'competitive package' for their second-string Toro Rosso team next season as the Japanese manufacturer attempt to recover from an unreliable campaign with McLaren.

For the past few seasons Honda have been involved in a partnership with McLaren, but the constructor team has now moved on to Renault, with one of their drivers, Fernando Alonso, warning Toro Rosso that they face a difficult time with Honda due to their vehicles regularly having issues during races.

However, Marko has claimed that he is happy with Honda's recent progress and remains excited about the partnership.

“Right now, we’re working hard with Honda to make this a competitive package with Toro Rosso,” he told F1i.com

“We are very pleased with the progress Honda is making and will continue to make until the start of the season.”

Toro Rosso are the second team of Red Bull, and when asked whether Honda would eventually provide parts for both teams, Marko didn't give a lot away.

We’ll take a look and only then can I say in the middle of next year what we’re going to do.”

Alonso has been one of the biggest critics of Honda recently, and claimed that the lack of power provided by the manufacturer was "very worrying" for Toro Rosso.
