'I swear!' - Ricciardo rubbishes rumours of Ferrari deal

Daniel Ricciardo "swears" he has not signed a new deal with either Red Bull or Ferrari as rumours of his future in Formula 1 swirl around the paddock at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Australian was reported to have verbally agreed a move to the Scuderia in 2019.

Ricciardo shapes as the key player in the driver market for next season as he enters the final year of his Red Bull contract.

Both Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen's seats at Mercedes and Ferrari respectively are also up for grabs, and Ricciardo is reportedly attracting attention from both front-running teams as he seeks to find a regular race-winning drive.

Though suggestions in the paddock at Sakhir suggested he had opted to pursue a deal with the Scuderia, Ricciardo says he is yet to make a decision either way.

Ricciardo is quoted by Autobild: "I swear I haven't signed anything, not even with Ferrari!

"I would also have to ask Seb [Vettel] first. I haven't done that yet."

Speaking before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Vettel talked up the possibility of teaming with Ricciardo once again, having spent the 2014 season alongside him at Red Bull.

"We had one year together which wasn’t great for me, it was great for him," Vettel said.

"But anyway, I think we get along so I wouldn’t mind if we get together again in the future but I don’t know what is his plan…

"I think he has a couple of options and I don’t think he needs to rush."
