Vettel hated Mexico's 'selfie guy' and 'sh***y trophy'
Sebastian Vettel lashed out at the official invader of the Mexican Grand Prix podium, as well as the "shitty" trophies dished out to himself, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
The podium ceremony at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is always eye-catching, as it plays out in the Foro Sol stadium section of the circuit.
F1 pushed the boat out this year, with Hamilton and his race-winning W10 ascending to the rostrum on a mechanical platform for extra pizzazz.
However, 'Mario Achi' – a spangled racesuit clad mascot – also took to the podium with a selfie stick and tried to get involved with the top three drivers, only for Vettel to give him short shrift.
He said: "I didn't like the selfie guy when he tried to push into the picture, so I pushed him away. I'm not big into selfies anyways.
One unbelievable podium 🍾

"But I think it was nice to elevate the car as well. I think it's really cool. Obviously, it's a very nice way to do it, to involve the whole stadium and the crowd and the other things so I liked most of it, except the selfie guy and the trophies."
Vettel was even more strong in his criticism of the Heineken-branded winner's trophy, a similar design to which has been seen at many races this year where the beer-maker is also title sponsor.
"I think it's a shame," he said. "You have such a great race and they've put so much effort into the race and then you get this shitty trophies that look boring.
"I think we could have some for the future, maybe something nice, maybe a traditional Mexican, because I think it's a bit of a shame.
"I mean, there's Heineken written everywhere. You don't need to have the freakin' star on the trophy as well.
"So get something nice like they had when we used to race, when Formula 1 used to race here before we came back."
