Ricciardo: I'll pull my teeth out if it snows again!

Even Daniel Ricciardo struggled to look on the bright side after the first pre-season test in Barcelona was wrecked by snow. The Red Bull driver joked he would resort to pulling his teeth out if the next week's follow-up test is affected.

Ricciardo topped the timesheets on Monday as testing began, while he was the only man to clock three figures for laps completed - circuiting 105 times.

His return to the car on Wednesday was far less productive, however, as snow ruined running for all teams.

Only one driver, Fernando Alonso, set a timed lap, leaving Ricciardo in reflective, but typically jokey, form.

"Testing is over," he said. "We saw it all. We saw snow, we saw ice, we saw frost, we saw nipples that could cut through glass... we saw it all! But we didn’t see many laps. That’s all good.

"Don’t have much to say, I went in the gravel in first gear, that’s how slippery it was.

"Still, we'll try to ride the high from day one, that was solid. I've never seen snow in Barcelona. My trainer, Michael, hadn't seen snow in his life until this morning!

"See you next time. Next week, if it snows again, I may pull my teeth out live on camera..."
