Mercedes launch the W12 - image gallery

Mercedes is the fifth team to launch its 2021 machinery

Mercedes has become the fifth team to launch its 2021 Formula 1 machinery after the covers were lifted off the W12.

Mercedes is one of just three teams on the grid to field an unchanged driver line-up for the coming season after both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas signed new one year deals with the team.

Last year Mercedes broke from tradition by running a black livery instead of its regular silver in a visual stand against racism.

Hamilton and Mercedes have since committed to launching a joint charitable foundation to support diversity in motorsport as a part of his new deal.

For the coming season, Mercedes has retained its largely black look, but with the iconic silver on display at the rear of the car.
