McLaren launch the MCL35
McLaren have launched the MCL35 at a ceremony held in the iconic McLaren Technology Centre.
The launch of the MCL35 which was broadcast live on Sky Sports F1, McLaren.com and the McLaren YouTube account, can be relived here.
The MCL35 is once again decked in papaya orange paint with blue details, although this time the team have followed Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari down the route of using matte paint.
"I like it [the livery] a lot," said driver Carlos Sainz at the launch. "I just think that the new matte finish and all of the work that has been put into this car, it looks great.
"It looks a bit tighter, slimmer - it just looks better I think."
Returning for his second year with the team and for his second year in Formula One, Lando Norris joked, "I pretty much designed the whole thing!
"This car was obviously based on last year. Everything that we went through, all of our comments and discussions between us as drivers have been put in to this and it's been based around that.
"It's a lot more of 'my car' and we've had the input into making this, so it feels a lot more of my baby and my car and I can't wait to drive it."
McLaren scored their strongest points total since 2014 and secured their highest championship finishing position since 2012 with a solid campaign in 2019. The team also saw a return to the podium through Carlos Sainz in the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Spaniard finishing third.
