Ricciardo raffles race suit to raise funds to fight Australian bushfires

Daniel Ricciardo has joined the list of celebrities and sports stars to raise money to help tackle the bush fires that continue to ravage Australia.

Renault driver Ricciardo has announced that, as well as donating money himself to WIRES wildlife rescue and the Australian Red Cross, he plans to raffle off his race suit from the 2020 Australian Grand Prix.

Speaking on Instagram, Ricciardo said: "As pretty much the whole world is aware of now, Australia is suffering with some severe devastating bushfires.

"Anyone who is kind enough to donate, please do.

"There’s the Australian Red Cross and there’s WIRES wildlife rescue. I’m sure there’s a bunch more but these are two I’ve donated to and please do the same if you can.

"My race suit I’ll race with at this year’s Australian Grand Prix. I’ll sign that and we’ll raffle that and all proceeds will go to those two charities as well."

Ricciardo follows the Virgin Australia Supercars champion, Kiwi Scott McLaughlin, in auctioning his race gear - McLaughlin auctioning his only remaining 2017 helmet along with a race suit from the same year.
