Alonso returns to Indy 500 with 'unfinished business'
Fernando Alonso is returning to the Indianapolis 500 with "unfinished business" and a determination to win the race, and take out the 'Triple Crown'. McLaren confirmed that Alonso will have another crack at the Brickyard following qualifying for the Brazilian GP.
Alonso's previous effort at the Indy 500 ended in engine failure in his Honda-powered Andretti Autosport car – a similar feeling for the Spaniard in three years with McLaren and Honda.
It has been reported that the Japanese marque's hesitance to supply Alonso with an engine in 2019 put the brakes on a full-time run in IndyCar – with McLaren failing to put together a team in time to enter.

With Monaco GP and Le Mans 24 Hours wins under his belt, Alonso needs a win at Indy to match Graham Hill's unique feat.
McLaren CEO Zak Brown says Alonso will not be interested in simply taking part.
"We are relishing our return to the Brickyard and this incredible race," said Brown.
"McLaren has a long and fond relationship with the Indianapolis 500 and it's a case of unfinished business for us with Fernando.
"No Indy 500 is a cakewalk, it's a massive challenge. We have the utmost respect for the race and our competitors. So, we are under no illusions.
"But McLaren are racers first and foremost, as is Fernando. We're going for it."
