Ricciardo's bizarre celebration after taking Mexico pole
Daniel Ricciardo expressed his excitement at snatching pole position for the Mexican Grand Prix in a way that perhaps only the Australian could, revealing he was "tripping major nutsack" after edging out Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen in a bona-fide qualifying thriller.
Ricciardo pipped Verstappen by just two hundredths of a second, denying his teammate the chance to eclipse Sebastian Vettel's record as Formula 1's youngest pole-sitter.
Red Bull are unlikely to have another crack at pole in 2018, and Ricciardo taking it out was a major shock after Verstappen had been the one to set the pace all weekend prior.
Still, Ricicardo did not believe his final flying lap had been enough, but it came in lap-record time in Mexico City.
"I knew it was there somewhere," he said. "We hadn't had the cleanest run through practice, but I knew putting the lap together would be crucial as always.

"I knew the pace was in the car, Max showed that all weekend from start to finish.
"I still wasn't convinced it was the cleanest, but once I heard I got pole, I was… I've got to relax a little, I'm tripping major nutsack right now!"
The lap was spectacular, and so was the reaction ????

Saturday's triumph was just Ricciardo's third pole after two previous in Monaco, while he led Red bull's first front-row lockout since USA 2013.
He added: "Monaco is the only place I've ever done this so to do it here… I believe it was super close with Max I heard a few hundredths or thousandths.
"Shout out to the team, it was one-two, I don't know the last time Red Bull got a one-two in qualifying so that's pretty cool."
