Lewis Hamilton has claimed that he has 'no desire' to follow in the footsteps of Fernando Alonso and try and claim the autosports triple crown by competing in the Indy 500 and Le Mans, insisting that Formula One provides the 'maximum experience' for any competitive driver.

Alonso is aiming to claim the triple crown which includes the Monaco Grand Prix, Le Mans, and the Indianapolis 500. He will prepare for competition in Le Mans by taking part in the Daytona 24 Hours at the end of January of next year.

Hamilton admits that he admires Alonso's desire to try other things, but it does interest him to pursue other competition, as Formula One was the pinnacle of motorsport.

"It's very difficult to do something unique and different today," Hamilton concluded in an interview with UOL.

"In the past, there were drivers who raced in several different categories, but I don't have the desire to do that.

"I admire what Alonso wants to do, but for me, Formula 1 is the maximum experience a driver can have.

Hamilton doesn't seem particularly impressed with the competition in IndyCar, and has questioned whether Alonso could step in and compete for the top spot against more seasoned drivers in that particular discipline.

"A great driver, if he cannot win in Formula 1, will look for other races to win.

"But to see him [Alonso] fifth against drivers who are there all year is…interesting."
