Female racer Chadwick makes history and has sights set on F1
Jamie Chadwick made history as she became the first female driver to win a race in British Formula 3 at Brands Hatch on Sunday. The 20-year-old has already set sights on breaking down more barriers with a future move to Formula 1.
Chadwick has already made her mark in the British GT Championship, becoming its youngest champion - and first female winner - in 2015.
Current F1 test drivers and Formula 2 title rivals Lando Norris and George Russell - both expected to step up to race seats in the near future - have recently raced in British F3, Russell was champion in 2014.
Chadwick came home second on-track at Brands Hatch, but took the win as race leader Pavan Ravishankar was penalised for a jump start, earning a 10-second penalty.
"I knew that he was going to get a penalty but I was hoping it would be a drive-through so I could get my head down and I wanted to win on the road," said Chadwick.
"This win is more about showing that it's possible [to win as a woman]. When I'm on the money I know I can be the quickest or one of the quickest.
"Today show's that its possible [to win] and nothing to do with my gender."

Giovanna Amati was the last woman to enter a F1 race at the 1992 Brazilian Grand Prix.
The likes of Susie Wolff and Maria de Villota have since been signed to teams as test drivers, while GP3 racer Tatiana Calderon is currently contracted to Sauber as a development and test driver.
Chadwick will hope that the weekend's victory is just the start of a longer journey.
"I really want to do it obviously for myself but also to showcase that women can do it," she told City AM earlier this year.
"And in the back of my head there is a confidence that I know, if given the right opportunity, I could."
