Where does Lewis Hamilton rank on Forbes' celebrity rich list?
Lewis Hamilton is the richest motorsport star in the world and was recently revealed as the 12th best-paid athlete across the year of 2017 by Forbes. But where does the four-time Formula 1 champion rank in the wider world of celebrities according to the organisation?
Forbes break down Hamilton's 2017 earnings into salary and winnings payments totalling $42m, with another $9m on top in endorsements.
His total earnings of $51m in the year made him the 47th best-paid celebrity according to Forbes.
That's above musical stars like Lady Gaga ($50m), Paul McCartney ($47.5m) and Rihanna ($37.5m) as well as acting royalty Will Smith ($42m), Scarlett Johansson ($40.5m) and Adam Sandler ($39.5m).
Sebastian Vettel also made the top 100, in 69th position, having earned $42.3m in 2017 at Ferrari. His contract is thought to be worth an equal amount to Hamilton's but his comparative lack of sponsorship deals drop him down the chart.
As in the athlete's list, Floyd Mayweather Jr also tops the celebrity standings, having raked in $285m in 2017 thanks to his Las Vegas mega-fight with Conor McGregor.
George Clooney ($239m) and Kylie Jenner ($166,5m) round off the top three.

Hamilton is yet to sign a deal with Mercedes beyond the end of 2018, although a contract tabled by the Silver Arrows would reportedly be worth $52m a year, suggesting Hamilton will move up the rankings by the time it is taken into account by Forbes.
Both driver and team have remained calm publicly over the contract, despite Hamilton having gone 10 races into the season without signing it when he was expected to do so before the campaign began in Australian in March.
