Hamilton, Verstappen in a league of their own: Singapore GP FP2 Results

The battle for Singapore Grand Prix dominance looks to be a straight fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen after the pair led the way in FP2.

Verstappen topped an FP1 session in which Hamilton did not run the quicker tyre, but the Mercedes man led the way after a soft-shod run in FP2, clocking one minute 38.773 seconds.

Red Bull's Verstappen was less than two tenths off the pace, having also finished second to Hamilton in Marina Bay last year.

Valtteri Bottas and Alexander Albon were roughly a second adrift of their respective colleagues in fourth and fifth, with Sebastian Vettel in third, leading Charles Leclerc by half a second despite running into traffic issues over many attempts at a one-lap run.

Renault and McLaren maintained position in behind the big three, with Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg taking best-of-the-rest honours in a session apiece, the Renault man particularly showing impressive speed in comparison to team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
