Schumacher 'upset' by Raikkonen clash

Mick Schumacher was left to rue what might have been after "upsetting" contact with Kimi Raikkonen in the F1 São Paulo Grand Prix.

Heading into the Senna Esses alongside one another at the start of lap 11, a moment of wheelspin caught out Schumacher resulting in a collision and a heavily damaged front wing on the Haas.

Reflecting on the incident, Schumacher said: “It’s upsetting because I think we had the right pace to definitely be in front of the Williams so it’s unfortunate but we learn from those things.

“So I think the little bad thing that I get is really useful and now I know where the limit is.

"I think those corners, because it is the nature of a left-right sequence, obviously everybody wants to try to get the most space out of it.

"I think we touched tyres at first and then he got a little oversteer and my front wing got caught.”

Sitting alongside one another in the Thursday media session, the two drivers joked it was a shame they had not raced wheel to wheel more often this year.

Speaking on that occasion, Schumacher said: "Unfortunately, I didn’t get to battle much with him.

"I would have loved to have had the opportunity to properly race against him but we will probably have to do it elsewhere, on an ice track or something.”

In reply, Raikkonen quipped back: “Or I could slow down and we could do some racing?”
