McLaren prepare to move 'Fearlessly forward' in 2020

McLaren prepare to defend their 'best of the rest' status in the new MCL35, a car that will be launched at the McLaren Technology Centre at 13:30 GMT on Thursday.

Having scored a first podium since the 2014 Australian Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz's third place in Brazil - a result made all the more astounding when remembering that the Spaniard had started in last place - McLaren are looking to maintain their position while doubtlessly keeping one eye firmly on the 2021 regulation changes.

The 2019 season saw McLaren score their highest points tally (145) since the 2014 season (181) and also their highest championship position (4th) since 2012 (3rd).

McLaren will once again run with Renault power, the only team using this power unit other than the factory Renault team, before switching back to Mercedes for the 2021 season. Previously, the McLaren Mercedes relationship between 1995 and 2014 yeilded the 1998 constructors' title and three drivers' crowns - Mika Hakkinen in 1998 and 1999 and Lewis Hamilton in 2008.
