Hamilton gets into his rhythm and is unbeatable - Rosberg
Former F1 world champion Nico Rosberg believes that when Lewis Hamilton gets into his rhythm behind the wheel, he is basically unbeatable.
On Saturday the Brit secured yet another pole position for the 2019 season as he finished fastest in qualifying for the German Grand Prix. It did come with an element of luck, though, as he was aided by the premature exits of both Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, who had looked much faster in the practice sessions.
However, Hamilton’s former team-mate and rival Rosberg thinks that when the five-time world champion gets in the right, competitive frame of mind, nobody can touch him.
“The problem is Lewis Hamilton is in the usual momentum where he's just so strong and he really gets into his rhythm and he's unbeatable in that phase,” he said.
Rosberg believes that only Mercedes-powered Valtteri Bottas can challenge Hamilton on Germany, but thinks the Finn will feel the pressure to perform after team boss Toto Wolff refused to confirm his seat for 2020 ahead of F1 ‘silly season’.
“Someone needs to try and get back at him now and it can only really be Valtteri,” he continued.

“But, Valtteri has pressure on his shoulders because Toto said yesterday its going to be decided in these two races how Valtteri performs if they keep him for next year or not, how tough is that?!”
Wolff said ths week that Esteban Ocon was in contention for Bottas’ seat next year, but Rosberg wonders whether this is simply a strategy from the Austrian to make contract talks easier.
“There's so many different things that factor into that its really difficult to know,” he added.
“In Toto's position for example it could be a negotiation tactic to push down a few more million for next year, it really depends.”
