Williams still a 'work in progress' - Claire Williams
Williams team principal Claire Williams believes that some of the major reasons for their poor performance in the 2018 Formula 1 season have been addressed, but insisted the team are still a "work in progress" as they attempt to produce a competitive car for 2019.
Historically, Williams are one of the most successful teams in the history of F1, with only Ferrari having won more constructor's championships.
However, recent success has been hard to come by with the last title win coming over two decades ago, while the team finished dead last in the rankings last year, with rookie drivers Lance Stroll and Sergey Sirotkin unable to make their mark in a weak car.
Williams thinks the team is improving in certain areas, but insists they must continue to work to be competitive in 2019.
"We’re pretty happy that we have resolved some of the key issues that we had last year," she told RACER magazine.
"But our recovery is still very much a work in progress.
"We’ve obviously had the plan that we’ve put in place around car development that’s been ongoing for a while now. That’s been going I think probably as we would expect.
“I think it’s a case of we clearly have got to wait and see until we get to testing to see what everyone else is doing. It’s quite difficult to judge the progress we’re making at this point."

Williams recognises that changes and improvements had to be made behind the scenes, too, as well as on the track and in the garage.
“There’s lots of other work that has been going on around the business as a whole" she continued.
"Making sure that the business and its structure, processes and resources are all fit for purpose.
“We’re doing a huge amount of work making sure that everything is set up in the right way for us to do the job that we need to, in order to ensure that our recovery plan goes according to plan.”
The team will have a completely new driving line-up for 2019, with George Russell and Robert Kubica coming in for a new partnership.
