McLaren staff injured in Barcelona garage fire

McLaren have confirmed that three team members were injured when a fire broke out in their garage during a filming day at Barcelona on Friday. None of those affected suffered serious injuries, having been discharged from hospital shortly after treatment.

As well as McLaren, Racing Point and Williams were undergoing filming sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya on Friday.

According to BBC Sport, McLaren's MCL34 car was undamaged by the fire and the team's participation in next week's second pre-season test is not in doubt.

"There was a small fire in the garage during the team's private filming day," a team statement read.

"The fire was quickly extinguished by the team and circuit emergency services attended immediately.

"Three team members were treated at the medical centre and were released shortly after."
