Kevin Magnussen believes Haas' increased deployment at a Maranello design office has pointed the team in the right direction.

The Danish driver left Haas at the end of 2020 and moved to the American IMSA endurance championship, while he also filled in for the injured Felix Rosenqvist for Arrow McLaren SP at Road America in IndyCar.

Magnussen returned to Haas at late notice this season and has provided three points finishes in the seven races to date after the team failed to score at all last year.

One of the keys is that Haas now has a greater presence at Maranello this year, with a fully-fledged office allowing for greater communication between its design team.

On whether this change and other operational differences have been positive between his two stints, Magnussen said: "Yeah, that's been a nice change in the team.

"The year I’ve been away, they've moved. It's a bigger group now in Maranello. That helps communication between the different departments, just being able to go and talk to each other."

Expanding on Haas' multi-national operation, Magnussen added: "Our team for all those years has been spread out over the world - in the US, two places in Italy and one in England, so very spread out.

"In terms of communication, it makes it easier when you can just go to a mate’s desk and have a chat.

"So, it's better and it's also grown, we have more people and it feels better. Of course, the car shows that, too.

"So it's in a good place Haas are pointing."
