Norris dismisses Ricciardo wave jibe as "absolute crap"

Norris lapped Ricciardo at Monaco

Lando Norris has rubbished suggestions he taunted McLaren team-mate Daniel Ricciardo during the Monaco Grand Prix as "absolute crap".

The British driver lapped Ricciardo on his way to third in the Principality, raising his left hand out of his MCL35M up Beau Rivage.

Norris, however, has been accused of mocking his underperforming team-mate, a claim he was quick to defend on his Twitch channel.

Whilst reviewing the race, he paused the highlights video and said: "Wait, alright, I see so many of you make up absolute crap and nonsense as usual.

"By the way, any time someone lets me pass for a blue flag, anyone, right, if they get out the way properly as they should, I put my hand up and say 'Thanks'. Alright.

"I am saying thanks. I do it to fricking everyone. Mazepin, Schumacher, Dani... whoever I pass, I put my hand up to say thanks. Alright.

"So don't just notice one where I fricking passed Dani and then think I am giving something that I am not, alright? Let me get that point across. I see a lot of stories that people make up."

Norris' result in Monaco means he sits third in the drivers' championship, ahead of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez.
