Alan Permane has signed a long-term contract extension with Racing Bulls after an excellent first full season with the team.
The British motorsport veteran will continue as team principal and co sporting CEO through to the end of the 2031 season with the sister team of Red Bull, the team have announced.
After an impressive 34-year tenure with the Enstone-based outfit now known as Alpine, Permane was promoted to racing director in January 2024.
By July 2025, he had moved up to become team principal after existing team boss Laurent Mekies was drafted in to replaced Christian Horner after he was sensationally sacked by Red Bull.
Alongside Peter Bayer, who remains co- commercial CEO, Permane forms a strong and experienced leadership duo, according to Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff.
“I am immensely proud to be continuing this journey with VCARB, and I would like to thank everyone at Red Bull for the trust and support they have given me.
"What makes this team special is the shared spirit of everyone; trackside, in Faenza and in Milton Keynes, and it is a privilege to lead such a talented and committed group every day.

Permane eyes fifth in constructors’ championship
Under Permane’s guidance, the team has made significant strides in F1 competition.
After scoring 46 points in 2024 and finishing sixth with 92 points in 2025, Racing Bulls has already accumulated 108 points this season.
This puts them in fifth place in the constructors’ standings, their best result since their inception as Minardi in 1985.
Looking ahead, Permane remains ambitious: “Fighting for fifth in the championship is something we should all be very proud of, but it is the result of years of hard work from a lot of people, and we are not done yet.
"We have the right people, the right culture and a clear sense of where we want to go, and I am excited to keep pushing together.”
Mintzlaff praises Permane
Mintzlaff is delighted with the work Perame has done in his first ever role as team principal, praising his impact since taking charge.
He said: "Alan is doing a tremendous job, and the progress the team has made is a direct reflection of his experience, commitment and competitive mindset.
"He brings clarity, composure, and a deep understanding of what it takes to perform in Formula One, while creating an environment where people can consistently deliver at their best."
