Mercedes reveal W13 launch date

Mercedes will launch its new challenger at Silverstone

Mercedes will launch its latest F1 challenger on February 18 as it attempts to keep hold of its constructors' championship in the sport's new era.

The Mercedes-AMG W13 E Performance, to give the car's its full name, will be unveiled at a launch event at Silverstone just five days before pre-season testing is set to get underway.

The Silver Arrows will then shakedown the W13 to complete "initial system checks" at the home of the British Grand Prix.

Mercedes will be hoping to retain its dominance of F1's teams' championship as George Russell joins the team alongside Lewis Hamilton, whose future remains shrouded in mystery, with both aiming to reclaim the drivers' title for the team.

The first race of the season takes place in Bahrain on March 20.
