Turkish Grand Prix: Starting grid with penalties applied
Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz all start the Turkish Grand Prix with grid penalties.
Seven-time F1 champion Hamilton achieved his initial aim of setting the fastest time in qualifying at Istanbul Park to limit the damage of a 10-place drop for taking on a new engine in his Mercedes W12.
It means Hamilton starts from 11th behind a front-row that sees team-mate Valtteri Bottas on pole alongside the Briton's championship rival Max Verstappen.
All the other drivers who finished behind Hamilton down to 11th place shuffle up one spot, leaving Hamilton with a challenge to limit the points damage to Verstappen who starts the event two adrift.
As in the Russian GP a fortnight ago, there is a highly unusual back row as Ferrari's Carlos Sainz is now joined by Daniel Ricciardo in his McLaren.
Spanish driver Sainz came into the weekend knowing he would be on the back row due to a complete power unit change that now incorporates the new hybrid system initially used by Charles Leclerc in Russia.
With Ricciardo only qualifying 16th, after being bumped out of Q1 by a late lap from Sainz, McLaren opted to take the opportunity to fit the Australian's MCL35M with a new engine, turbocharger and MGU-H.
