Did Honda troll Alonso after double German GP podium?
Did Honda troll Alonso after double German GP podium?
Honda had plenty to celebrate after Daniil Kvyat joined race-winner Max Verstappen on the podium at the German Grand Prix - did the Japanese marque fancy rubbing Fernando Alonso's nose in it?
Verstappen kept his head in a crazy Hockenheim race to benefit from Lewis Hamilton's error and take his second race win of the season.
Honda had double delight through Kvyat, who came home in third, after a smart piece of Toro Rosso strategy, which almost aw him come home second.
It meant the Japanese marque had cars from two teams under their power on the podium for the first time since the 1992 Portuguese Grand Prix.
It's a far cry from Honda's return to the sport with McLaren, which saw years of struggle to hit top power and find reliability, remember Alonso's "GP2 engine" rant when he was passed by a young Verstappen at the 2015 Japanese GP?
Honda certainly haven't...
He's done it again 💪 Thats GP2 victories in 2019 👌@Max33Verstappen 👏#PoweredByHonda pic.twitter.com/z4yhYhMKG7
