Charles Leclerc had looked the fastest man at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix all weekend, but was out of qualifying in Q2 after crashing into the wall at the castle section of the Baku circuit. Robert Kubica had crashed at the exact same spot in Q1, prompting a lengthy delay to fix the barrier.
