Report: Vietnam Grand Prix set to be postponed
The Vietnam Grand Prix looks set to be postponed, as a leaked message suggests that a formal announcement will be made on March 15.
Formula One is due to head to Hanoi for the inaugural Vietnamese Grand Prix on April 5, but this now looks less than certain after an alleged exchange with the authorities reveals plans to announce that the event will be postponed.
"The meeting today of the F1 chairman and with Hanoi City's authorities has confirmed the race will be a temporary delay," reads the message.
"However, for the exact policy according to this Covid-19 problem, we will announce it to our customer from March 15th."
The #F1 Vietnam Grand Prix will be postponed according to the Tweet below. It is said to show confirmation from the organisers that they will announce the delay on 15 March. Can @F1VietnamGP verify this? https://t.co/1Z5FsSTBo3

Both MotoGP and Formula E have seen three races either cancelled or postponed and numerous other sporting fixtures around the globe are being either cancelled or played out in empty stadiums.
Formula One has already felt the effect of the coronavirus, with the Chinese Grand Prix being postponed and the Bahrain Grand Prix set to be held behind closed doors.
Vietnamese Grand Prix officials have been contacted by GPFans for further comment.
