Kubica blames Williams for his lack of a 2020 ride
Robert Kubica feels that he was unable to show his true potential in the 2019 Williams Formula 1 car, something he believes is to blame for him not having a drive for the coming season.
Out-qualified in every Grand Prix of 2019 by his rookie teammate George Russell, Kubica told Poland's Gosc Radio Zet that, had the Williams car been stronger, he might have been able to secure a race seat for 2020.
“It is possible that if I had a better car last year, I would not be sitting here, I would be preparing to race in Australia," said Kubica.
“At Williams, I found a group of people who know what they are doing, but there were others who could have done better work.”
Despite his displeasure at not having a race seat in F1 for the coming season, Kubica was still grateful for having the chance to make his comeback - even if it was a shorter return than he had wished for.
“I think I’m lucky anyway because many of my colleagues with great talent never got to Formula 1,”
