Hamilton shows his colours ahead of 'El Clasico'

Formula 1 champion backing Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton backs Barcelona ahead of Sundays 'El Clasico' football match against Real Madrid.

Hamilton, well known for being an Arsenal fan, thanked the Spanish giants for sending him one of their shirts.

"I just wanted to send a huge thank you to FC Barcelona for sending me this shirt," said Hamilton. "I'm so, so grateful.

"I'm a massive fan and I'm so proud of you guys and I'll be watching this weekend."

Hamilton has been completing Formula 1 pre-season testing in Barcelona over the last two weeks ahead of the season opener in Australia on March 15.

Barcelona sit top of Spain's La Liga with Real Madrid second - Hamilton himself hoping to remain at the top of the Formula 1 standings throughout the year.
