Verstappen, Honda 'top' - Marko sets Red Bull sights high in 2020
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes the team will have “no excuses” if they fail to compete with Mercedes and Ferrari for the championship next season, such as the power they possess with Honda.
Ahead of the 2019 campaign, Red Bull switched engine suppliers from Renault to Honda, and although it took a while for the partnership to flourish, the team eventually won three races via Max Verstappen in Austria, Germany, and Brazil.
With the way Honda are currently developing, Marko wants further victories in 2020.
“We have taken a lesson and next year we will not have any excuses,” he told Sport & Talk of ServusTV.
“Our Honda power is top, Max is also top so now we have to deliver a good chassis. At the moment we are two weeks ahead of our schedule. It goes better than ever before.”

Verstappen agrees, and wants to further establish himself as one of the best drivers on the grid by claiming more race wins.
“Of course I want to win more races in a season,” he explained.
“We hope to be able to compete for the world championship straight from the beginning of the season.”
Furthermore, with speculation always surrounding his future, he insists he wants to achieve success with Red Bull, and not one of their competitors.
“I am really positive,” he added.
“I feel well within Red Bull, and everything goes really well and that is the most important in the end. We all want to win together. I am relaxed and feel well within the team. I want to win with Red Bull.”
