POLL: Should Vettel or Leclerc be Ferrari team leader in 2020?
POLL: Should Vettel or Leclerc be Ferrari team leader in 2020?
Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc's crash at the Brazilian Grand Prix has raised the prospect of Ferrari abandoning the 'let them race' ethos that has caused several headaches late in the 2019 season.
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto bestowed "priority" upon Vettel at the start of 2019, but Leclerc's superb performances soon quietly wiped that out.
Both Leclerc and Vettel have gone against the team's wishes in attempts to benefit the other this season.
Leclerc's most notable snub came in Italy, where he did not give Vettel a crucial tow in qualifying, with the German also going against the team in Russia after slip-streaming his team-mate into the lead of the race, but then refused to give it back, as has been agreed.
Things boiled over in Brazil as the pair touched wheels and both retired immediately, leaving Ferrari stewing over a first double DNF in over two years.
Ralf Schumacher has warned Vettel that Ferrari will view Leclerc as their future if a decision is deemed necessary about the pair.
