Liberty Media's determination to bring a Miami Grand Prix to Formula 1 has been clear for some time.

We had been led to believe that the race would debut in 2020, but plans to hold the race on the streets of downtown Miami ran into problems as local residents fiercely opposed them.

A change of venue has brought renewed hope that the event will take place, however, and F1 have announced that the race will have a slot on the 2021 calendar, at a circuit surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium.

The venue is home to the city's NFL franchise, the Dolphins, and renderings of the race track have already been put together.

The starting grid will flank the stadium.
Much of the circuit is contained on land owned by the stadium.
Some public roads are included in the plans.
