Vettel defies Ferrari team orders after passing Leclerc

Sebastian Vettel defied Ferrari's team orders, having been asked to let Charles Leclerc retake the lead of the Russian Grand Prix after jumping his team-mate at the start of the race.

Vettel benefited from the slipstream to jump from third to first by Turn 2, realising Leclerc's worst fears after taking pole for the fourth race in a row.

Ferrari asked Vettel to swap with Leclerc, seemingly a pre-agreed strategy, but he said Leclerc would have to close the gap.

When the 21-year-old could not do so, Vettel continued in P1, prompting more furious radio messages from Leclerc - a similar scenario to last week in Singapore.

With Lewis Hamilton closing the gap, the Ferrari drivers were told to hold station eventually, with Vettel maintaining the lead.
