Rosberg reacts to Bottas' new deal

Correct decision?

Former Formula 1 world champion believes Mercedes have made the correct decision in giving Valtteri Bottas an extended deal.

Bottas started the season superbly, winning two out of the opening four races, but has steadily struggled to lose his form, with team-mate Lewis Hamilton subsequently gaining more ground ahead in the drivers' championship.

With Max Verstappen coming up the rear in third, too, the pressure was on Bottas as Mercedes allegedly looked at other driver options for 2020, with George Russell and Esteban Ocon mentioned as potential replacements.

However, on Thursday ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, Mercedes announced a new deal for the Finn, and Rosberg thinks it was the right move by the Silver Arrows.
