Leclerc: 2019 British GP 'favourite race' of my career
Charles Leclerc has praised the action on display at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, and reckons it was his favourite race in his short Formula 1 career.
The Monegasque driver started on third in the grid, and was embroiled in a hugely entertaining duel with Max Verstappen for the majority of the day, as the pair continued their rivalry from the last GP in Austria two weeks ago.
At different points they were battling for third, fourth, and fifth, before Verstappen was put out of the running for a podium spot after being rear-ended by Sebastian Vettel.
Leclerc thinks the fact he defended against Verstappen in such an action-packed way might make the race his personal favourite.
“It's probably the race I've enjoyed the most in my Formula 1 career. Great to finish third, but today was very difficult,” he said following the conclusion of the GP at Silverstone.

“The first two stints we weren't where we wanted to be. Unfortunately, with the safety car we lost a bit of position which wasn't great for us.
“[I'm] Extremely happy with the battle we had on the track.”
The Ferrari man, despite being bettered by Verstappen in Austria, has revealed that the racing on show at the Red Bull Ring provided him with an insight as to how hard he can race.
“The last race [in Austria] was a bit of an eye opener for me, really showing how far we can go,” he added.
And I think it's great for Formula 1 to fight on the limit in that way, and I'm happy this race has gone like this.”
